February seems like kind of a strange time to be posting about my intention for the year, but being I had a false start (or a few) in starting my blog – it is what it is.
I chose my word for this year to be ‘simplify’. And I mean it. I want to simplify it all.
I know that ‘new year, new me’ resolutions get a lot of bad rap. I completely agree. But, I do set goals. I don’t think there is anything at all wrong with wanting to better yourself and to set intentions for the direction that you want your life to be headed. There is nothing wrong with a bit of self-improvement.
2019 was quite a hard year in terms of Anest’s health and the way that it impacted on everything. One of the hardest things I found was the sheer amount of stuff that I kept falling behind on everytime that Anest got sick. Stuff that needed to be tidied or put away. Stuff I needed to clean. Stuff I needed to wash.
Just so much stuff.
I just want less. I want less stuff. I want less to have to think about. I want less time, money and energy wasted on things. I want less to clean.
Because I want more. I want more time to be fully present with James and the kids. I want time to finally start this blog. I want time to finally start my nutrition business. I want more time to go for spontaneous walks or days out.
Without having less, it is going to be a lot harder to have more.
So I decided that every month I would set a focus area for that month and focus on simplifying that area.
January was supposed to be finances but ended up being a sort of mish-mash of finances and decluttering the house. I did set up a new budget though, and I do have a plan of tracking our finances so that is a start.
February is all about setting up rhythms and routines to try and get everything running a bit smoother around here!
Do you have a routine?
